When using type W cable at marinas I've used the 75c rating and column E of Table 400.5(B) for feeders to power pedestals. Let's say for this discussion, we have a pedestal with (2) 50-amp receptacles (125/250 volt). The service is 120/240-volt single-phase.
The reason I use column E is because I've always understood that the neutral in this case does not need to be counted as a CCC (see note 2 to Table 400.5(B) ).
I was speaking to a State level code enforcement official and was informed that my thinking is incorrect and that I need to count the neutral as a CCC and then am directed to use column F of Table 400.5(B).
What do you think?
