My question is this.....I have a 3 gang meterbase on the outside of a building, on the inside I have 3 200 amp breaker panels. What size enterance cable should I use to attach to the power company's service wire.

Thanks for your help.

Before we start providing any answers, let me ask a question of my own. Your profile describes you as a "tech." What does that mean? Are you designing this project as part of your job, or are you the electrician who will be installing it?

Welcome to the forum.
We would need some additional information.
What type of building -res or comm
What is the load calc of the 3 load centers ect.

I don't think we can give an answer anyway Charlie. There isn't enough info. What is the calculated load? Once you have that you will have the answer.

Wouln't 220.84 come into play here? specifically Table 220.84?

Couldn't you size the service entrance conductors for 600 amps?
Of course but wouldn't the OP know that if he is an electrician. My main reason for the calculation was to see what the OP knew. It says he is was student of electricity so...........

Hey everyone...sorry for the lack of information. This building is res...3 dwellings...cal load for the first two apartments is 60 amps each...the third apartment is heated with gas.

What is the cost per foot of 1500 mcmkil. ;)

Thanks for the info on table 220.84.
