I am using both the mike holt and stalcup books to prepare for the NJ exam. Both books have different methods to calculate ovens and stovetops for columns A and B that result in different answers. It seems to me that mike holts book is wrong on this one. (Add columns A and B together and then apply the derating factors of column C). Could someone clarify? Thanks for all your help in advance.

Need more info. The most important info in Mike's book is in the front on how to take the test, read it. And at test time I'd get a room at the hotel the night before.

Can you post the two different versions of the problem so we can help you figure out which one is correct?

I spent the week before the test down in Belmar...my test was in the summer .....
I got a lot of studying done that week:

....I studied the bottom of the shot glasses in "D'Jais" :

And what is the MOST important? Why get a hotel if you live 5 minutes away?
