My local news just reported copper has dropped 44% recently because electricians are using far less.

So I'm sure everyone has noticed the price drop at their suppliers?

Even notice that copper and oil prices seem to be linked?

Oil goes up, copper goes up.
Oil goes down, copper goes down.

hmmmm

I just bid 46 miles of wire and we seemed to get current pricing:D. I was told by one of my local suppliers that Southwire gave them a spreadsheet to index the cost of wire to the cost of copper since it is so volitile right now. At least they'll hold prices for a full day - wasn't there a while when steel way changing multiple times per day?

how much do you go through per year? if youre in the mid to high 5 figures and can live with leadtimes there are ways to go mfgr direct.

I would be interesting in learning more about this. I just bought $300K for one job and I have another one to buy for yet. How do you go about this?

You talk to the manufacturers rep. Your volume per order needs to be really big or they won't bother.

Your suppliers won't be happy because they get cut out.
