Could I cause the Air Conditioner Condenser to fail because I forgot to install power shedding on the backup generator when the power kept toggling

Could I have caused the Air Conditioner Condenser to fail because I forgot to install load shedding on the backup generator when the power kept toggling on and off for 5 minutes? I installed load sharing on one AC unit but forgot to install it on the second. The condenser on the second unit seized, but the condenser on the first connected unit did not.
