Ok so I'm doing the electrical work in my house due to the fact that the job is small and here in my city we can do the work ourselves (Also no electrical contractor has responded to my calls I am the proverbial leppor it seems and they all are so busy .... ) - I do have an electrical engineering background but I'll admit that I'm no pro so excuse the nativity of the questions I have a copy of the NEC 2012 so am willing to learn and have do the cals for the box fill stuff I had to do so I am trying ......
When I say counter top outlets I am literally talking about an outlet embedded in a horizontal counter top as we have just removed a wall and have no place for outlets - something you find in the floor sometime as a business. Practically it sounds good, but water spillage etc are perhaps why it's verboten.
So where can I have outlets for a kitchen counter that has no vertical wall backing it? Install a plug outlet in a lower cabinet and just have an extension cord in place (after inspection of course )
