I believe that about 10 years ago, Square D standardized on white-painted numbers on the breaker handles. All stuff I've been reading implies that the raised black numbers injection molded with the handles are counterfeit.

What was considered a "genuine" Square D breaker before this change? Was there any standard? Today, I saw some (ca. 1992/1993) that the only identifiers were white stickers (HOM breakers). There were no "D in a square" logos anywhere on the breakers (that I could see) injection molded or the like.

Sorry for the low quality of the photos

In those days, Square D breakers were commonly black stamped on black. Most of the counterfeits out there are QO type, not Homeline.

I believe those breakers in your photos are genuine.
