I believe that about 10 years ago, Square D standardized on white-painted numbers on the breaker handles. All stuff I've been reading implies that the raised black numbers injection molded with the handles are counterfeit.
What was considered a "genuine" Square D breaker before this change? Was there any standard? Today, I saw some (ca. 1992/1993) that the only identifiers were white stickers (HOM breakers). There were no "D in a square" logos anywhere on the breakers (that I could see) injection molded or the like.
