Looking in the the code book ( 2023 ) in Part 3 Required Outlets. Article 210.52 , Island and Peninsular countertop and work surfaces. There is no mention of receptacles below work surfaces. In the workbook for 2008 Peninsular countertop spaces exception to ( 5 ). It says receptacles mounted below countertop shall not be located where the countertop extends more than 6 inches beyond support base. Was this exception taken out of the 2023 code cycle and for what reason or am I just not finding.
