covered and insulated conductors

Hi all;

Please, distinguish between covered conductors and insulated conductors

Both are defined in Art 100.
One example is aerial triplex used by most POCOs. The covering on the phase conductors is not recognized by the NEC and as such the cable is not Code acceptable.
 
Article 100 Definitions...

Conductor, Covered. A conductor encased within material
of composition or thickness that is not recognized by this
Code as electrical insulation.
Conductor, Insulated. A conductor encased within material
of composition and thickness that is recognized by this
Code as electrical insulation.
