Cost of copper

Cost of copper

We just had a 250,000 sq/ft building wired for us, the EC put in his contract "wire is priced at copper at xx/lb wire cost will reflect actual current prices." was the way he had it worded. It did make us look twice but we understood that he could lose big time if copper went up over the time of the job awarded.

Just looked at scrap prices on local scrapyard's facebook page - copper has risen a little but nothing to get too excited about yet.

Steel prices are up some, maybe $40-50/ton more then they were around the beginning of the year. Probably enough the scrap haulers are waiting to see what it will do before bringing much in.

Talked to my pipe supplier today. Prices are way up with the 25% tariff. Quotes for steel are valid for 24 hours only.
