I am sizing a feeder protection device and feeder size for a large industrial crane and need to know if I am on the right track. Sizing over current protection for a 300 hp main drive softstart, a 50 hp gantry swing, four 30 hp gantry travel, and a 7.5 hp hydraulic pump all loads are 480 volt. I assume you take 125% of the largest motor plus the FLA of the other motors for feeder sizing. Feeder protection would be the branch circuit protection of the largest motor plus the sum of the FLA of the other motors. Am I correct or maybe missing something?
