I've seen millwaukee has tool with fixed d3 and bg die mechanical tool. Does anyone know if h taps work with these fixed dies or is another die required for d3 slot for h taps?

Get the O die nose. With the D die in back. The bg can be bought in a die set that clips in the O space. That way you have three dies that will about do everything. All the H taps(up to 350) and barrel sleeves for 2/0 and 4/0

Burndy MD68 probably cheaper and it’s the same thing.

I have the milwaukee version that has fixed BG and D3. The 840 die is good as it can do the blackburn common die series lugs from #6-350 (https://library.e.abb.com/public/6d11abab19de4b0b8fb22158c61cf7af/Blackburn_Compression_catalog.pdf page 23).

Get the O die, and then along with the fixed D, you can do the entire range of blackburn WR series H-taps.

For the OP's specific question, the D will do the larger half of those blackburn H-taps, you need the O for the smaller ones.

nose die. I foI have a MD6-8 with an Ound myself on multiple occasions unable to get the crimp head close enough to the connector using a BG die in the D3 slot when I was extending ufers with c-taps. I bought the Milwaukee with a BG nose, and just use an O die for the smaller h-taps.
