Crimping Cu wire

Good afternoon.
I got a good deal on Klein BAT20-7T14 with 6 jaws
After researching this forum on the topic of crimping I come to a conclusion that I can keep D3 jaw only and get
Burndy WDIEKITAL W Die Kit for Aluminum Connectors
In order to be able to use it the tool the most.

Am I correct in my research?

Hmmmm, well it's a little hard to say what dies will allow you to use the tool the most. It depends on what you are crimping and whose lugs you want to use. Many of the blackburn lugs use the same die, 840, for all sizes #6-350 (i.e. homac sakm series, or Blackburn AL7 series). But it looks like what you propose will do a good number of sizes.
 
I understand the chain of choice of
1. See a local supplier what he has on shelf that will be needed for the job
2. Choose the tool with specific die

I am backtracking this chain because of a good deal on the tool and Klein uses dewalt batteries

And wow! H style connectors cost 2$ compared to Polaris multitaps that cost 25$ and up

Yeah H taps are great and so affordable.

Question 1.
In specification for wr159 it says
ApplicationFor Combinations of Aluminum to Aluminum and Aluminum to Copper Conductors.
Can this connector be officially used on copper wire to copper wire connections ?

Question 2.
Can this connector be used as irreversible connection for GEC?

Question 3.
Is it suitable for direct burial when used in pool bonding, grounding ?

They state "for copper to copper connections use CF type"
 
I've been told they are not rated for direct burial, word of mouth but for what it's worth, was POCO engineer who said so.

cu-cu, irreversible, and direct bury are what Burndy YGHC2C2 claims (no experience with these, saw them on Google when looking for H-crimp specs)
 
YGHC2C2 goes with a different crimping tool

So far my research shows Klein BAT20-7T14 is great for crimping aluminum wire using h taps.

I am unable to buy online T&B common die set splices and lugs

Looks like in order to crimp Cu wire one needs Pat750 tool or similar
 
I think (and I am not sure about this) that for the YGHC2C2 to be a listed connection, you would need a listed crimper. It is likely best practice at the least. The PAT750 is the best all around crimping tool for Burndy connectors but it is expensive. I like to buy and use the correct tool for the job when I can, especially for something buried or encased. With Florida lightning, it doesn't take very long to find out you don't have a good earth ground.

Why would lightning make any difference? Lightning does not typically travel thru the gec
 
What makes you think it travels thru the gec? If there is alone strike chances are it does not get thru the transformer. The gec is not there to take current from lightning.
You're thinking of utility/primary strikes, they're thinking of house/secondary strikes.
