Has anyone had the opportunity to review the proposal that has been accepted for the implementation of a new Article 585 - Critical Operations Power Systems?

I for one am not certain this is an issue that needs to be specifically addressed by the NEC. Wouldn't this information and all the requirements be more suited for other existing NFPA documents (NFPA 1600) or even a new NFPA standard? It just seems to me like a lot of the provisions proposed are already contained in other NFPA texts.

I get a sense of design in many of the requirements of this new Article and I am just not sure this is the way the NEC should be heading.

Any thoughts?
 
I read it and yours is a good comment. Is should be in another NFPA document. Its more of a performance document.
