Cruise Ships

Ok, so I'm making a power point for my students, while looking for pictures I came across a cruise ship and started day dreaming, that's when it struck me. Do the Cabins and common areas of cruise ships fall under the requirements of the NEC? I was looking at table 220.12 would it be considered a hotel or transportation or would it be found in another code book?

No I understand 90.2(B) my question is even though Installations of railway for generations aren't covered, but the platforms they use are covered by the NEC. Like skyscrapers that have livable rooms, the skyscraper is a commercial building but the dwelling unit inside the skyscraper falls under the requirements of article 220.14 (J). So my question is do the cabins inside of the cruise ship fall under the NEC.

90.2 aside, very very few cruise ships are built or registered in the United States, so they would not be subject to the NEC anyway.

Codes & standards for boats are generally within the purview of the Coast Guard and/or the American Bureau of Shipping.
