This is presumably about the CSLB's ongoing attempt to restrict solar contractors (C-46) from installing battery storage. This is being pushed by certain people who want to see it restricted to C-10s (electrical contractors) for their own interests (not because there have been any incidents, and despite the fact that C-46s have been installing battery storage connected to solar for decades and arguably have more expertise in many cases).

Last info I had the proposed new rule would restrict C-46 battery installations to 80kWh or less.

The CSLB tried to push a harsher interpretation rule through two years ago without following the legal rulemaking process. They were sued by CALSSA and forced to withdraw that decision. They are now trying to go about it the 'right' way.

Ggunn is correct. The subject line is misleading as this isn't about limiting solar itself in any way (which the CSLB has no authority to do).
