I just ran across this today a Propane tank short piece of copper tubing to a transition at the house to CSST piping then to gas log fireplace. Home inspector says because it is CSST it needs to be bonded to ground system from house. I never seen this before and since it is a stand alone system does it need to be bonded to the house system? I am thinking the only way lightning would effect it would be to hit the tank and then they would have other issues. I don't think it does and there really is nowhere to clamp.

As I understand it, the gas code requires CSST to be bonded to the GES.

The hard piping on the source (tank or utility) side of the CSST is what normally gets bonded, not the appliance side.

Thanks for info just discovered all yellow pipe need bonding , the Black CSST pipe may not need it.
Just as an FYI, the bonding requirement for CSST is not an NEC issue but rather a listing issue with the CSST. In fact, the NEC is silent on this special bonding for CSST. As you said, AFAIK all yellow CSST requires it per its listing. The only CSST I know of that the listing does not require this bonding is a product called CounterStrike and yes it is black. I suppose there may be others.
There is a history of how this requirement came to be and caused a stir about 10 years ago or so.

I remember when it came out I first saw it in "Parade" magazine in a legal notice of the class action lawsuit. Call HVAC buddys and they were clueless too.
