What is the most common way to make a copper to aluminum connection. The reason I ask is because I just installed cooktop in a house and I pulled #6/3 WG aluminum from the panel. When the cooktop arrived it had copper wiring in it. I went to the supply house to buy some CU/AL wirenuts to make the connection and found out they don't make CU/AL wirenuts big enough for this application. I used CU/AL split bolts. Does anyone know if they make wirenuts that big?

Re: Cu. to Alum. connections

Ilsco makes a butt type set screw splice Listed for AL/CU conductors that works well. The SPA-2 will accept #6 conductors. It is rated 90C.
