Does anyone know of articles on the web that discuss how to apply current limiters to parallel runs of feeders? I am NOT asking "what is a current limiting fuse?" What I am after is information on devices called "current limiters" that are mechanically crimped on the end of each conductor of every parallel run. I am looking for information on sizing, installation, application, etc... Are they still commonly used?

Just what I was looking for - thanks for all your help. From what I've seen, cable limiters are all about termination style and cable size. Nothing about ampere rating. Maybe they are spec'd out based on cable size only??

Ca ble limiters are to clear fault current. A parallel set of 500kCmil may be rated for 380 A but could be subjected to a significantlly larger fault current. If one of the conductors was faulted you would want the limiters to clear that one conductor of that phase (so to say) to mitigate a large or total outage. the figures in the pdf file illustrate such a sceniero.
