Hello,
I want to measure the current in a dough mixer that is supplied with power through a multi-conductor flexible cord, plug, and receptacle. I plan to cut the cable in order to breakout a conductor to pass through the current transformer and re-terminate the conductors on a terminal strip. The non-metallic enclosure to house the current transducer and terminal strip will be equipped with nylon cord grips to seal the enclosure and provide stress relief.
Does this violate the NEC rule that prohibits splicing of flexible cord?
