Good day,
I need to install a current transformer (donut) on a 4160 volt motor leg in the starter, it is for local amperage indication where the motor is located. Is there any special ratings for the current transformer that I need to get as the voltage is 4160 volts?

Most 'window' style CTs are built with 600V insulation, so they need to be installed around shielded MV conductors. Most manufacturers have instructions for these installations and how to run the shield wire backwards through the CT to avoid metering errors.

Thanks, the donut is to be installed on an insulated motor lead about 2 feet from the bolted connection to the MV starter. Can anyone suggest where I can purchase the CT online? I need a 200:1 ratio (ammeter is 1A FSD) motor is 144 FLA
