Talking to a Dairy customer of 25 years as he explains his next project. We put in some $$$ filters he bought from someone back when he was having issues. They have nice little indicating lights but he and I no longer remember what those lights are supposed to mean. I questioned him about the various things he tried.
Looking back he believes the #1 issue were nutrition or ration changes that were made at the time.

I know we found and corrected several electrical issues but what stands out for him is the change of feed for the cows.
Just a note to remember, it is not always an electrical problem.

Most of the time when we get a call to 'come look at this PLC' it ends up being a mechanical problem, or some field device is worn out or broken.

Lots of factors at play with a dairy operation, that's for sure!
