This system has been in use for over 20 years. The material is listed and usually approved everywhere.

Butch, do you go to Home Depot?

Most times the lighting in these stores are Relock, at least in my area.

I have seen problems with an older style that used plastic for the latches and it would get brittle and break, any of the new stuff we put in the latches are made of steel.

One electrical company I worked for had me replacing countless ballasts sometimes three or four days in a row :( on this kind of arrangement. It's done a lot in commercial buildings.

Iwire, around here electricians aren't allowed in Home Depots but I hear they have big sodium vapors.

So are you saying the relocks caused the ballasts to go?

How would you explain this?

Nice save Iwire!

No, I'm sorry if I left that impression. Actually this contractor was pulling a fast one on his account. When there tubes needed replacing he instead of replacing tubes upgraded the fixtures to T-8's.

Dunno where else you're going to find a threadless GRC fitting in south Boomwalla, sometimes you gotta grin and bear it.

Noxx, you can apply for an exemption card, but it can only be used for specified materials. :p

I was first exposed to this lighting style on a shopping center job in 1984. It was quick and easy to install. The clips and hardware are much improved now.
