What do you guys think about this. I am doing some work in a greenhouse. It is constructed from metal poles and covered in plastic. (Industrial strength dropcloth) It is usually warm, usually humid with some condenstaion on the ceiling (the palstic covering) which drips off. All the wiring is in emt with set screw connectors and standard boxes above the point at which the plants grow and are watered and compression fittings and weatherproof boxes below that point. I need to add lighting. Any suggestions on type of fluorescent neccesary? I am thinking damp location, with standard 8' strips but welcome all input.

Scott I think the damp location fixture will cover you code wise.

Just my opinion, it will rust and look like junk in less than a year, depending on the customer you may want to use a vapor proof fluorescent that will last for years.

Only you know what this location deserves, it sounds somewhat temporary in nature anyway.

Bob that is what I was thinking of going with but when you see this place that seems way to nice. It is not temporary. The plastic will last at least four years and then it is just replaced with new plastic. The structure has been there for at least ten years.

Go for as much tupperware products as possible. Martha Stewart recommends them.

Use an electronic ballast with T-8 lamps, they are not sensative to cold weather, also they are 48" lamps not 96". The 96" are hard to carry and easy to break. I have insalled a lot of the fixture shown, they are ok, the little plastic clips that hold the lens on fall off and its a trip down and up the ladder. Hubble used to make some really really nice enclosed fixtures but they sold the fixture line to columbia and no longer offer that fixture.
