data/security in same j-hook

Just a basic question. Can cat6 and security cabling be installed in the same j-hook hangers? We had a heated discussion about it today at work. I feel they should be in separate hooks but a few of the guys say there is nothing wrong with them in the same hook.
Thoughts or code reasons I could arm myself with...
Thanks,

Who hung the hooks? Who was there first? Did the second one there lube the cables - or rip them through at high speed and pulling tension? The cable burn issue is one aspect, the poor etiquette is another....

The premise behind the speed of cat-5/6 is the twisting of the conductors to reduce capacitive coupling and X-talk... That said - the only one I would have a problem with would be the power supply cable - the contacts and key pad wire - not so much...

It may depend on what is running on the Cat6 cable, what is the freq, will there be any error control problems, or noise generated with the cables bundled together ?

Lets say it is data...  The security cables would be a number of different types of power and data and the contacts are usually nothing more than the extended leads of an ohmmeter looking for a certain resistance. The power - I would worry about. The data - is questionable, but doubt the effects would be noticeable. I just got done with a server room with over 200 cat 6 bundled - with a homogeneous type of data transmission. Not sure what type of transmission protocols for alarm key pads - but still doubt it.... The contact cables - I likewise doubt any effect.

The etiquette however is a burning issue for me.... Ironically, I found an alarm guy in my holes just the other day - I'd have to pull my cables back to check them - which would require work on my part.... work I should not have to do after I installed it once already...

I sure agree with you on the etiquette, and after they jump in on your runs, if any problems do appear, they are not left with the problems.
