Is data wiring required to be in conduit inside of walls? It is Cat6 cable and I am certain it is plenum rated. Engineer forgot to add about 62 data drops and is looking for the cheapest and easiest way to install them.

Cheap on him but customer gets the problem if wire ever goes bad or needs upgraded.
Given the advances in electronics that cat 6 might be out of date in a few years.
depends on local jurisdiction. Clark County Nevada (vegas) for example requires it to be in pipe (even above drop ceilings). Other locations may have similar local codes (chicago?)
Not sure of the set up but maybe you can talk him into fishing some sort of flexable raceway even if its small that way in the future it can be rewired but again as was stated it only sucks for the customer not the for that engineer who made the mistake.
