DC Combiner Mounted to Racking & 110.32 Work Space About Equipment

Looking at the possibility of mounting DC Combiners to racking structure below panels but I'm interpreting that that 110.32 prevents this due to the following language, "Within the height requirements of this section, other equipment that is associated with the electrical installation and is located above or below the electrical equipment shall be permitted to extend not more than 150 mm (6 in.) beyond the front of the electrical equipment"


Am I interpreting this correctly as I swear I've seen inverters mounted like this. Our system has a tracker system so maybe that changes things a bit. Thank you.

I would look at 110.26(E)(2)(c) Dedicated Eqipment Space and the below Exception: Structural overhangs or roof extensions shall be permitted in this zone.
