All, wanted to bounce this off everyone. Telco industry is getting the new generation VOIP switches and routers from manufactures, and they are doing something very strange IMO. They are intentionally bonding all the return circuits (+ polarity on a -48 VDC power system) in each equipment shelf. They also want the equipment bonded directly to building steel and bolted to the floor without isolators. These methods will intentionally allow several amps of DC current to flow through the building steel and piping systems.
I think this is a terrible idea and will lead to electrolysis and degrading the building pipes and steel.
Since this is -48 VDC does anyone know of any electrical or building codes issues that would allow or disallow this practice.
