Hi there,
Currently, I have a 200HP DC motor, and this motor use to run this machine at below 3000 ft. Currently, I am at 9000ft above sea level, and I heard that motors tend to derate 3% evrey 1000ft.
My questions are as follow:
1) When does the motor de-rate?
2) I know the air is thinner here and the motor derates when the temperature of the motor heat up. Does installing a bigger blower motor on the motor helps de-rating?
3) I have read somewhere that at higher altitude I need a special brush for the motor? What type of brush do i need.
Right now, I have already installed everything, and I wonder what other solutions do i have to avoid the motor from de-rating too much?
