Does anyone have a decision tree for sizing a circuit breaker based on the NEC rules?

Graphical decision trees would make the code easier to understand but I have never found one for any part of the code.

I'm not much help. Best I can suggest is to start with:

240.3, Table 240.3
240.4, A - G
310.15

Part 240, Part VIII Supervised Industrial Installations

Part IX, Overcurrent Protection over 1000 Volts, Nominal

An likely a dozen others I forgot.

There are about 100 bunny trails - unless there are 500. Follow each one to the end.

Suggestion:
Instead of looking for an all inclusive decision tree (which could look about like my attachment) consider making up a tree for one topic, say select an Overcurrent Device for a motor.

That one is complicated enough.

So I followed the light blue line and I think you came up with a wrong conclusion, could you look over your work and get back with a corrected version?
