Dedicated circuit for sign?

Existing office building, multiple tenants.
A new sign was added showing building address & Name.
Power was tapped from owner's site lighting pole in the area. (owner's idea)
An external 3R safety disconnect switch was installed at point of power entry.

Question: Does this need to be a dedicated circuit? Inspector seems to think so. I don't.;) What say y'all?:) Thanks..............

Believe the inspector is correct...

600.5 Branch Circuits.
(A) Required Branch Circuit. Each commercial building and each commercial occupancy accessible to pedestrians shall be provided with at least one outlet in an accessible location at each entrance to each tenant space for sign or outline lighting system use. The outlet(s) shall be supplied by a branch circuit rated at least 20 amperes that supplies no other load. Service hallways or corridors shall not be considered accessible to pedestrians.

Not enough information was given here. Each tenant might already have that outlet. The building entrance might already that outlet, and it might be in use for some other sign. That does not mean that I can't add another sign, and put it on an existing circuit. The rule is that an outlet must exist. That does not require that the outlet be used for any specific purpose.

I agree and IF all of the above exists..then the inspector might be incorrect. I assumed :)

Yes, I should have mentioned that this is a roadside/lawn sign that is tapped from a site lighting pole. The sign is not dedicated for any particular tenant space, just the building name and street address.
...... The tenants for the building each have separate entrances, and yes, they each have a circuit (outlet) for window signs.
..... Our contention is that is NOT the "required" branch circuit as in 600.5 (A)
..... I feel that if the intent was for ANY sign to have a dedicated circuit, it would be stated just that way.:-?:)........ or not?

The required show window outlet(s) (210.62,220.14(G)) are not the same as the required sign circuit. (600.5(A),220.14(F))
