Does the NEC require a dedicated circuit for a residential sump pump?
2nd question, What if 2 pumps are installed?
What code articles would relate to this?

The NEC doesn't address sump pump specifically but in general it is not required to be on a dedicated circuit.

Whether you can put 2 on a circuit would depend on the draw of the units and what size circuit is used.

Article 422 would probably be the article or section 210.23 may come into play

This is the first sump pump question that didn't ask about "don't want GFCI". Seems like the 2020 NEC specifically addressess sump pumps

If there are two pumps, one is likely a secondary pump and will not run at the same time as the primary pump.
But good design might still mean put it on a different circuit. If it is a backup to the first it won't work if the first one had a ground fault and tripped the breaker that is common to both.

2 pumps in same pit. One sitting higher as a back-up.
Like I said, if it is a back up you probably don't want them both on same circuit, if the circuit fails they both are off. NEC wouldn't necessarily have any say on this, but is possible other codes or just common sense will.
