110.26(E)(1)(a) requires 6' of dedicated space above equipment (or structural ceiling if lower) as pertaining to < 600V installations, and allows suspended ceilings with removable panels within the space. Is there an equivalent rule for >600V installations, and if so where? And does the suspended ceiling allowance still apply?

The rules for over 600 volt equipment are in 110.34 and not near as strongly worded the rules in 110.26 for the lower voltages.

Take a look at 110.73 and it references back to the requirements of 110.26
So the requirements are the same.

That section only applies to "Manholes and Other Electrical Enclosures Intended for Personnel Entry, All Voltages". I don't think that is what the OP is asking about.

Thanks guys ... it still seems a bit confusing; that you would refer back to a section specifically for 600 v. or less when the condition is for over 600volts. I also can see where Gregg is coming from (which at least tells you to use the < 660 v - but Don, your point of 110.73 being located under manholes is well taken also. Either way it seems you both point me to the same answer but with different reasons.

It seems confusing for me as well and this is a common issue I too have faced in forums as we cannot decide who is right and who is wrong, by this again we find our-self in same situation.
