Dehumidistat fan for reidential installation

I was wondering where the dehumidistat for a new residential installation should be located.... top floor where the tenerature is higher? ...or a lower floor? i have seen dehumidistats with minimum 90cfm fans installed in various locations. Thanks again!

I suspect the humidity is higher at ground level. I would put in in an area that is the biggest concern.

Are these whole house exhaust fans to de- humidify?
If not and they are in the shower area then I would install them there and as high as allowable
