Demand Load and Panel Schedule

Hi there

This is my first time at this Forum.
I have the electrical load calculation for a 7,290 sf custom home.
The total load after applying the NEC demand factors is 338 Amps.
So the recommended Service feeder id 400A .
The house has three stories and ask for Main service panel and two additional sub-panels.
I have the connected load for the main and the sub-panels which is 470 Amp.
Mi question is related to how spread the demand load among the Main panel and sub-panel.

I am not sure I understand what you are asking. It sounds like the main panel would be 400 amps, and the two sub panels would be whatever is need to handle their share of the load. I have done high-end houses and usually put 2 or more sub panels in each. Sometimes I put one on each floor or each wing. I have put a separate sub panel to serve a pool and cabana area. The first decision is how you want to divide up the load. Did that not show up already on the engineer's plans?

I did not receive additional info from the engineer. Just load calculation and schematic of the proposed branch circuits, with no panel schedule.
Based on the load calculation he sent me on a very simple drawings, my self did the connected load distribution on each of those panels. I understand that every panel should show the connected load and the demand load.
Well, that is the point of my question: How based on the connected load distribution I done , spread those 338 Amp of demand load established ?

While I don't think this directly answers the question, I usually lay out panels according to geography, rather than electricity. The last larger house I laid out had two main 200a panels, each one with a 100a breaker supplying a separate sub-panel.

All major loads were supplied from the main panels, and again, the sub-panels supplied remote parts of the house, which reduced branch-circuit run lengths and accompanying voltage drops. Again, geography determined the sub-panel locations.
