Demand Load Calculation for Office Equipment in Data Centers: Non-Critical Loads and NEC Code Application

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding how to calculate demand load for a data center. I’ve noticed that the panel schedule simply sums the total power of the equipment, as indicated by the cutsheet.

For example, in the data center’s restrooms, I see that NEC 220.53 doesn’t seem to apply to hand dryers, but since a data center isn't a dwelling unit, I assume it doesn’t apply here. Are there specific sections of the code that allow demand factors when calculating load for data centers? I’m not referring to critical loads like IT equipment, chillers, MUAs, or RTUs, but rather the equipment in the office spaces.

By the way, I’ve also noticed that NEC 221.5 is not applied in office areas for air conditioners.
