Just found out we have been awarded the deign contract for a mid rise building utilizing the tunnel form construction. Would really like to hear from other electrical engineers and designers that have designed a building using this type of construction technique as well as electrical contractors that have done the install on this type of building to see if there are or will be any special considerations that must happen with this type of construction.

I never heard of it so I googled "tunnel form" and got this. If they're not going to fur out the walls and ceilings, your choices of wiring method will be embedded conduits or surface raceways.

Give some consideration to all your vertical pathways. Its a lot easier to include sleeves in the pours than to core the floor later.

I've done tunnel form. It's cast in place concrete like any other and comes with the same objectives - get it right before it's poured, make sure it's not going to move when they pour, and establish standards for minimum concrete cover in areas subject to exposure to weather, not exposed to weather, etc.

You should not parallel cold formed reinforcement without minimum cover for the steel (ACI 318 can define that for you).

If your firm has never done one and you don't have standard details & specs in your library, ask around the office if anyone has a buddy who may share.
I don't know if AIA would have them or not.
