Hi senior,

I have been involved in designing many residential building, commercial building and industrial buildin. I am struggling here to design a process plant where the estimated load is around 15 Megawatt. so the local utility people advising us to design MV switching station also.

I seeks advise from the senior who experienced in designed MV switching station...

Switching station maybe an ambiguous term.
My thoughts would be what voltage would your service be from the power company and what voltage you want to distribute the power to the plant.
Is the poco provided a specific kv such as 13.8kv as an example and then it is up to you to distribute that. Or are they providing something like 38kv and you provide the liquid cooled substation transformer with a 4160v secondary and switchgear, such as S&C or something like the a Eaton Electrical VCPW medium voltage breaker lineup. Then you distribute the 4160v and then use power transformers from 4160 to 480v.
In addition there are often many coordination issues that must be addressed.
Again, your question is very vague. It?s the ?knowing when to hold the and when to fold them? that may be your best decision and to commission a electrical engineer who is familiar with is level of distribution. Sometime we have to realize what our limitations are an hire someone how has "been there and done that."

Yes ! you are correct, our required voltage level at building premises is 480/277 V , there are around 16 no.s of 1500KVA tranformers to supply the building at 480V/ 277 V level.
