My Manager wants our store to carry Despard switches and plates because the majoirty of Hawaii homes are still plantation homes that have thse switches. I called Leviton and they said they stopped making them.

1)Should I assume they are not of manufacturing due to dangerous operation, any body know if we should sell them?

The ones I see that are newly made do not have terminal screws, just backstab holes. A lot of the single wall plantation houses were wired in #12 for the lighting circuits, which would mean that those pricey despard switch replacements would be useless anyway. I rip em out and install combination devices or expand the switch box to put in standard single device switches. You should tell your manager to cut it out with the almond crap and expand the white device section back to the proper size again....:D
