I actually have a similar situation coming up. I've googled around and found some charts, but haven't really dug into it yet. It is not immediately clear to me how to use these charts. What is HLT?How would one fiqure out sag in an overhead run.
I don’t know tension either.
I need to keep 18’ over a driveway. One side is 26’ heigh trying to fiquire out how high to make my mast on other side. Spans about 150’
2” Imc on both sides
I had a service on a pole, about 175'Just don't forget that as you reduce the sag of the span you increase the load on the supports. Our utility only permits a 125' span from a 2.5" mast with 2 AWG aluminum triplex.
Yeah I can't figure out what HLT means in my first reference.I tried call my poco and see if one of the engineers knew the HLT she did not, but she going to look in her book tomorrow “ possibly “.
I normally don’t do overhead conductor span now I know why lol
Quad #2 alum with messengerYeah I can't figure out what HLT means in my first reference.
What are you running, triplex or quad?
