Diesel Locomotive Cable, usage comments?

As I build custom heavy truck trailers the reduced size, increased flexibility and superior ampacity make DLO ideal for my application as I'm always in tight spaces and confines (that make THHN or equivalent a nightmare).
This fact makes the added expense of DLO a worthwhile consideration.
I would appreciate any NEC code quotes or references regarding this from some of you with more experience than I or simply any thoughts or concerns. I don't see much about this in print and the wire type codes on 310-16 do not seem to apply or include DLO.

Thanks in advance! -Jeff

For Automotive, NEC does not apply.

For premise wiring DLO is not allowed. It would have to have multiple listing like DLO/RHH/RHW which is available. I use it in DC battery plants.

Here is the nuts and bolts of your situation. You can purchase DLO/RHH/RHW cable. But it will be more expensive because of the listing. There is no difference between DLO and DLO/RHH/RHW to my knowledge other than price. Just one has paid extra for the multiple listings and one has not, and the added testing cost is passed along to the user.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing regarding my application in the "private coach/automotive" arena (where I follow NEC as closely as possible).
Good stuff on the wire listings and thanks for the linky.
