I am trying to think of all the DIFFERENT conduits and I come up with.

Are the gaps supposed to be there? Reminds me of the "Don't Tread on Me!" flag.

Actually those aren't gaps but black plastic couplings that fit over the round ends of the duct. Basically you just bang them on with a hammer, insert the next length, and push it into the coupling. If needed you bang the end of the next piece in with a block of wood and a lump hammer. That's it, the back fill does the rest. :)

Well then in that case, EMT and FMT are not types of conduit.

Neither is ENT although I don't think it has been mentioned at all yet.

There is also aluminum, brass, stainless, PVC coated RMC and maybe even a few other types, There is a fiberglass raceway I don't know much about it and I don't see an article that specifically applies to it in ch3 2008NEC either.
