Can anyone tell me whether I'm allowed to use different size service entrance conductors on a 100 amp service before and after the meter? I'm talking size 2 copper from point of attachement to the meter, which is a little oversized for 100 amps, and size 2 aluminum, from the meter to the service disconect, which is the right size for 100 amps. Shouldn't make a difference if they can safely carry the load, correct?

As long as the conductors meet the NEC minimum you are o.k.
(In your specific situation you would be o.k. if the install meets the parameters in 310,15(B)(6).... individual dwelling unit, etc)

I agree with Gus-- parallel service conductors would have to have the same characteristics per phase but otherwise --go for it.
