I noticed on a Sawmill that one group of three phase Transformers had one "Transformer Can" that was smaller than the others. I didn't notice any markings it, and was wondering if it is simply an different design?

I was wondering if an 480 volt Three Phase Splitter is permitted to be on a wooden mezzanine off the Floor, or if the platform access would be required to be non-combustible?

The sizes can be suprisingly different for the same kVA.

That or it may be a high leg delta system with large lighting pot and smaller high leg pot because the amount of load on the high leg is minimal in comparison to the other legs.

It is not an open delta so both high leg pots would be small, not just one.

if the 3 phase is small compared to the single phase load, The transformer providing the single phase load will be much larger.
Right, but he's saying he had two large, one small. That would mean two heavy phases, one light phase. That don't make no sense.

Occasionally I will see this where one of the transformers in the bank has failed and they replace it with a transformer made by a different manufacturer. However, if they transformers are old enough, they will replace the entire bank.

I assume there are no two or three digit numbers painted on them. If so, it's likely the KVA rating.
If you have a good spotting scope and a tripod, -- or a bucket truck -- you might be able to read the nameplates.
