I have read through the code and everything about class 1 and Class 2 & 3 wiring. My understanding after reading through NEC article 725 is that I can pull 0-10 Volt summer wires in with my normal lighting circuit as long as those wires have been made in accordance with 725.48. (Would just use #14 THHN) Now if I need to access the dimmer wires outside of the box. And I plan to use a black gromet in a four square box and bring beldin cable into the box, does that cable need to be rated maximum voltage available in that box or maximum voltage to ground??

Also would appriciate any input at all. If I interpreted 725 wrong let me know.

i would think you would keep the entire circuit with chapter 3 wiring methods or keep the entire 0-10 volt class 2 dimming circuit installed as a class 2 circuit

We've had many posts and pages and pages of debate on this. This question seems to come up every week or so.

Mike (Mike Holt) gives his interpretation in the latest issue of EC&M. His advice is to reclassify the CL2 circuit and use a Class 1 wiring method per chapter 3 so that you can run the 0-10v with the power conductors.

I'm not clear how you propose to run your THHN and what a Belden cable has to do with it. When you reclassify you now must use a Chapter 3 wiring method meaning that it has to be in raceway or a listed cable from dimmer to fixture. The THHN would be run with the power conductors from the dimmer to the fixture. Use 14/4 MC or AC. There is also what's called a luminary cable that AFC makes that combines the 0-10 and power in one cable without having to reclassify.

Of course you can run the 0-10 separately with a CL2 listed cable, but then you get into separation between it and power conductors in the dimmer box and fixture.
