Ding Dong

Is there any code (NEC, energy, building, other) that requires a door bell in a single familly dwelling? Plus what about outdoor lighting for a sinlge familly dwelling, is it 1 fixture by the front door, and 1 for the back if there is a door? Does the NEC have the outdoor lighting requirements in it or is it in a building codes book? Thanks.

For the light question take a look at 210.70(a)2(b)

For the ding dong, it is not a nec requirement.

By "ding dong", did you mean a "Door Signal Device" as identified in the UBC for apartments?

Minimal lighting is an NEC issue but a door bell NOPE.Knock Knock.
