Dinning room outlet

Dinning room outlet

On a half height wall where one side has the kitchen cabinet and sink. The opposite side is facing the dinning room and an outlet is installed 14 inches off the floor, and less than 6 feet
from the kitchen sink. Is this outlet required to be GFI protected?

I have just ordered my 2005 NEC CD,still strugling with the 2002 ;) But doesn`t the 2005 require any receptacle with in 6 ft of a sink to be gfci protected?
First it was then it`s not,now it is :cool:

Ok so if in a wall serving a didning /nook area just has to be on 20 amp circuit now I get it ;)
But the 6 ft rule is in play again :roll: was required then not now again required :confused:
