Fan / Fan Dip / Switch Dip Settings
1 / 1234 / 1234
2 / 1234 / 1234
3 / 1234 / 1234
etc.

Bold numbers can represent dip switches in the "on" or "off" position just as long as it is opposite the rest of the dip switch settings. Thus for Fan 1 with the 1 dip set to "on" dip 2,3,4 would be set to "off" at both the fan receiver and the switch transmitter.

The "secret" can be found in the instructions that come with the fan. Set the pattern for each fan and its remote differently and no other remote will control the other fans.

What is the secret to dip switches on remote ceiling fans. As to keeping seperate fans from working from single switch.
Set each fan and its remote to matching DIP-switch settings, each pair different from the other pairs.

You can also intentionally set two or more fans to the same settings as one remote for group control.

You have to remember to set both the dip switches in the specific receiver as well as the remote control to the same settings as nium mentioned. One thing you should never do is leave the dip switches at the factory setting. You may find that one day your neighbor will try to start his fan and turn yours on at the same time.;)
