We are looking at supplying a 200amp service to a dwelling that is 1400ft from the property line. We are installing an enclosed meter service pedestal at the property line and back feeding a 50KVA oil filled pad mount transformer. The primary cable we are going to install is #2 15KV MV-90 Single conductor Shielded XLP with a PVC Jacket. The weight is 585lbs/Mft. As near as I have been able to determine the max pulling tension should not exceed 530lbs for this cable (#2=66,360 cm x .008 if puller attached to cable= 530lbs.) The max pull length I figure to be just over 1800ft assuming the conduit run is straight and not figuring any side tension. I am a bit concerned about a pull of 1400ft so have been thinking about direct burial. I have not been able to find any labor units for direct burial of 15kv cable. The soil conditions are good and the trench and backfill would be provided to what ever standard we determine is required. If anyone has any information on direct burial labor units and/or has made pulls this long, any information would be appreciated.

Haven't seen any direct burial happening in a while with regular XLP cable. A lot of it nowadays is plowed in cable-in-duct, from what I'm seeing.
