just a few photos from a roof in CT. Rubber Roof with about 50 holes from screws on a 500' run that a Direct TV installer made while installing their cable. Wish they would pull permits so they could get bagged. 50 patches @ $200 each =$10,000.00

Well, considering they hire their installers off Craigslist, pay them minimum wage and require them to drive their family minivan with a 32' ladder on the ski rack..........

I Don't know if I would accept patches unless the roofer will provide the same long term warranty that came with the original roof.

When I was working on a design for a rooftop PV system on a building with a similar roof that needed to have roof penetrations, that was about the cost per penetration for the roofing material alone, but that included the restoration of the warranty. The system would have required about 200 penetrations. We decided on a ballasted system that didn't need the penetrations.

The 200 dollars included the patch with a molded rubber loop that can be used for fastening the cable and the warranty.

So what was the result of the "conversation" between the owner and the Direct TV installer? Now would not be the time to inquire as to the extent, if any, of his errors and omissions coverage.
